Choosing the right IndeeLift floor lift depends on where it will be used, the level of assistance needed, and the specific features required. Below you’ll find a quick guide to help you decide between home, care center, and professional models.

Home or Care Center Use (Models PPU & PPU-S)

The PPU series is designed for safe and reliable fall recovery at home, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes. Both models support up to 400 lbs (181 kg) and reduce the need for manual lifting.

• PPU: Lifts from floor to a chair height of 21”. Best for people who can stand from a chair height or transfer into a wheelchair.
• PPU-S: Lifts from floor to full standing height of 30”. Ideal for those who are ambulatory but cannot stand directly from chair height.

Tip: Individuals with neuromuscular conditions (e.g. Multiple Sclerosis, Inclusion Body Myositis) often benefit from the PPU-S model, since it raises to full standing height.

Professional Use (Models FTS-500 & SST)

Professional-grade IndeeLift units are built for hospitals, clinics, and care centers that require frequent fall recovery or transfers to higher surfaces.

• FTS-500: Lifts up to 500 lbs from the floor to a full standing height (30”). Perfect for fall recovery in medical settings. Can be operated by a single staff member and does not require a sling.
• SST: The Standing Step-Through model lifts a standing patient (up to 500 lbs) by 14” (36 cm). Designed for torso transfers onto procedure tables, radiology, podiatry, or legacy high beds.
