The PressureGuard® Custom Care® Convertible LAL mattress system offers a wide range of benefits designed to improve patient outcomes and comfort. This advanced system effectively manages microclimates and redistributes pressure through its Geo-Matt® surface geometry and dual Heel Slope® protection, reducing the risk of pressure injuries. Its Air Diffusion Matrix™ layer provides continuous airflow, which removes excess heat and moisture, minimizing maceration and maintaining skin integrity. With its powered control unit, the system delivers low air loss, alternating pressure, lateral rotation, and powered pressure redistribution, making it versatile for various patient needs.
The SPAN Custom Care mattress supports up to 500 lbs. in non-powered modes and 350 lbs. in lateral rotation mode. It comes in multiple sizes, ranging from 75"-84" in length and 36"- 42"in width including 7" height/depth on the mattress, ensuring comfort and versatility for different needs.
The Custom Care Convertible LAL features patented microclimate management technology to keep you comfortable. Span-America’s exclusive non-collapsible “Air Diffusion Matrix” air delivery system works to remove excess moisture from your skin more effectively than typical low air loss surfaces. Moisture vapor passes through the coverlet, where a continuous flow of air within the “Air Diffusion Matrix” quickly carries it away, preventing it from re-forming as liquid and keeping you dry.
The PressureGuard Custom Care Convertible LAL is now available for recessed deck beds. This version is designed with V-shaped edges to fit securely in the bedframe, and a compressible section to adapt to different lengths and foot positions.
The patented design also features an inner bolster "cradle" effect, providing added safety by guiding you back to the center of the bed when you move toward the edge. Two fabric handles make it easy to reposition the mattress. Visit our recessed deck surfaces page to learn more.
The PressureGuard design uses a combination of air and foam to provide excellent pressure redistribution, promoting better comfort and recovery. The head-to-foot air cylinder orientation evenly distributes weight, offering extra support in the seat area when the head of the bed is raised. The Geo-Matt segmented top surface helps protect skin and tissue, reducing the risk of pressure ulcers. This design ensures effective pressure management and comfort for patients in various care settings.

All our products are sourced directly from manufacturers. If you need to exchange a product, you must first receive a return authorization form. Each manufacturer sets their own timeframes for possible returns. You, as the customer, are responsible for any shipping costs incurred during returns and exchanges.
Once the manufacturer receives and inspects your returned item, your refund will be processed and issued to the original payment method. While inspections can take up to four weeks, they are usually completed within 7–10 business days. The refund will be adjusted for outbound and return shipping costs, handling, and a 25% restocking fee.
If you do not see the refund within 7 business days after approval, please contact your bank or credit card provider, as additional processing times may apply.

Please inspect the packaging upon delivery. If you notice any damage, note it when signing for the shipment. If your item arrives damaged, email photos of the damage, box, and SKU, along with a brief description, to support@firstclassmobility.com. Freight damage must be reported within 24 hours with photos and videos, or the claim will not be valid. Exterior damage, including punctures, must also be reported within 24 hours.

BOGO Promotions
In the event of a BOGO promotion, both items must be returned for a full refund. If one of the two items is returned, you will get a replacement of that item or store credit for the value of that item when purchased on its own. If your order has shipped, you (the buyer) will also be responsible for actual return shipping charges and depending on the manufacturer, potentially a restocking fee.
