Full-Electric Bariatric Home Care Bed | 42-Inch Wide Adjustable Hi-Lo Bed

Key Functions at a Glance

The CostCare B142C Full-Electric Bariatric Homecare Bed is a 42" wide bariatric homecare bed designed for users who need a wider sleep surface, electric positioning, and a 600 lb safe working load in a homecare setup.

  • 42" wide mattress platform: Gives the user more room than a standard-width homecare bed.
  • Full-electric adjustment: Bed height, backrest, and knee section adjust by powered controls.
  • 600 lb safe working load: Built for higher weight support within the stated product rating.
  • Split frame design: Helps with moving and setting up the bed in the home.
  • Manual hand crank: Allows adjustment during a power outage or motor malfunction.

Bariatric Homecare Bed Built for Wider Support and Powered Adjustment

The CostCare B142C is a full-electric bariatric homecare bed made for home settings where a standard bed may feel too narrow or difficult to position for daily care. Its wider platform gives the user more room across the sleep surface, while the powered controls let caregivers adjust the bed height, backrest, and knee section from the hand pendant.

This makes the B142C a practical choice for families and caregivers who need a wider home care bed with electric positioning, a split frame for setup, and a manual hand crank backup if powered adjustment is not available.

Electric Positioning with Manual Backup for Power Outages

Stays Functional When the Power Goes Out

The CostCare B142C includes an emergency manual hand crank that connects to the exposed motor shaft under the foot section of the bed. In the event of a power outage or motor malfunction, the crank can be used to raise or lower the selected bed section by hand.

This gives caregivers a manual backup option when powered adjustment is not available.

Back and Knee Adjustment for Daily Positioning

This adjustable bed uses independent electric controls for the backrest and knee section. The backrest adjusts from 0° to 67°, while the knee section adjusts from 0° to 43°, giving users and caregivers control over common in-bed positions.

Frequently Ask Question

What makes the CostCare B142C different from standard homecare beds?

The CostCare B142C combines a heavy-duty steel frame with a full-electric Hi-Lo lift and a 600 lb safe working load, offering more strength and adjustability than most standard beds. It also includes a manual hand crank backup, keeping it usable even when power is out — a feature not common in regular homecare beds.

How much weight can the B142C support safely?

This model supports a 600 lb safe working load and up to 550 lbs of patient weight, making it suitable for bariatric care or users who need extra frame support.

What functions can be controlled electrically?

Three electric actuators control the bed height, backrest, and knee section independently. All functions are operated through a simple hand pendant with labeled up and down buttons.

How does the Hi-Lo system help with care and transfers?

The electric Hi-Lo system raises or lowers the entire frame, allowing caregivers to set the bed at a safe working height or lower it close to the floor for easier transfers. This improves handling and reduces strain during daily care routines.

What happens if there’s a power outage?

The manual hand crank connects directly to the bed’s motor shafts and allows full adjustment by hand. This keeps the bed operational and ensures users can be positioned properly until power returns.

Is it difficult to assemble the bed?

No. The B142C is designed for tool-free assembly. Motors and frame parts connect using locking pins and plug-in cables, allowing setup in minutes without special tools.

Can the bed be moved easily for cleaning or repositioning?

Yes. It includes four heavy-duty casters that roll smoothly across most floor surfaces. Each caster has an independent lock to secure the bed once in place.

Are accessories available for the B142C?

Optional accessories include bariatric side rails for added protection and an overbed table for convenience during meals or daily activities.
