Choosing between a rollator and a transport chair usually means picking one and hoping it covers every situation. The Drive Medical Duet solves that by being both, so you get two mobility aids in a single frame instead of two separate purchases.
Use it as a rollator on the days you want to walk under your own power, resting on the padded seat whenever you need a break. When you'd rather have a caregiver push you through the house, a clinic, or the mall, fold the armrests up and drop the footrest into place, and the same frame becomes a transport chair in seconds. The 8" casters roll smoothly indoors and out, and the height adjustable handles (31.5" to 37") mean the same unit works whether you're 5'2" or a 6'2" caregiver pushing from behind.
Every Duet ships backed by Drive Medical's Limited Lifetime Warranty and a 300 lb weight capacity, so you can buy with confidence that it is built to hold up to daily use.
One purchase gets you a complete rollator and a complete transport chair in the same frame, with nothing extra to buy before you can use either mode:

The Duet is covered by Drive Medical's Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for the original purchaser. This warranty does not cover damage from misuse or negligence, or normal wear and tear, and it does not extend to non-durable components such as rubber accessories, casters, and grips, which wear with normal use and are replaced periodically. If you ever have a warranty question, we're here to help as your authorized Drive Medical dealer.
Is the Duet motorized?
No, the Duet is a manual mobility aid. You move it by walking or a caregiver pushes it, there's no battery or motor involved. If you're looking for a powered option instead, browse our electric wheelchairs.
Is the Duet a wheelchair or a walker?
It's both, in one frame. Used as a rollator, it's a walking aid with a seat to rest on. Fold the armrests up and the footrest down, and it becomes a transport chair that a caregiver can push, similar to how a transport wheelchair is used.
Can one person switch it between the two modes alone?
Yes. The backrest flips tool free between the rollator position and the transport chair position, and the armrests and footrest lock into place by hand, no wrenches or hardware needed.
What is the weight capacity?
300 lbs in both rollator and transport chair mode.
How do I adjust the handle height?
Loosen the knob on the handle tube, slide it to one of the marked holes between 31.5" and 37", then retighten the knob until it's secure. Always retest stability before putting your full weight on the handgrips.
Can the Duet be used to transport someone in a moving vehicle?
No. Per Drive Medical's safety instructions, this item should never be secured for transport in a moving vehicle. It's designed for pushing a rider around the home or out on errands, not as a vehicle seat.
How do the wheel locks work?
Press down on both loop locks with your palms until you hear a click to lock the rear wheels in place. Pull up on both loop locks to release them. Always engage or release both sides at the same time, and test that the wheels don't rotate while locked before relying on them.
Can the hand brakes be adjusted?
Yes. Turn the adjustment nut on the brake clockwise to tighten it or counterclockwise to loosen it as the brakes wear in with normal use.
Is the backrest the same in both modes?
The padded backrest is reversible and contoured for both positions, so it stays comfortable whether you're using the Duet as a rollator or a transport chair.
What's included with the Duet?
The frame, padded backrest, adjustable handles, folding legs, 8" casters with loop locks, padded seat, and a carry pouch with an internal handle that helps with folding.
What is the warranty?
Drive Medical's Limited Lifetime Warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for the original purchaser, excluding misuse, normal wear, and non-durable parts like wheels and grips.
What colors are available?
Blue, Black, and Burgundy.
Whether you need a reliable rollator for daily walks or a transport chair for the days you need extra support, the Duet gives you both in one piece of mobility equipment. Browse our full range of walking aids or order the Duet today.
