The Journey Zinger Power Chair is a portable, folding electric wheelchair designed for easy operation and transport. Its aluminum frame and dual-lever steering system provide precise control for indoor and outdoor use. The chair weighs 42 lbs without the battery and folds down to a 10-inch profile for compact storage or transport.
The Zinger has an aluminum frame with a silver anodized finish and nylon composite components. The structure includes a floating footrest that folds with the chair, reducing the number of parts to adjust when storing or loading it. Rear anti-tip wheels provide additional balance when turning or stopping. The frame can be rolled upright when folded and fits in most vehicle trunks or storage spaces.

The Zinger uses a two-lever throttle system for movement and turning. Pushing both levers forward moves the chair forward, pulling them back stops it, and alternating them turns the chair in place. It has three forward speed settings and a reverse mode for controlled movement on smooth, even surfaces. The 24-inch turning radius makes it suitable for narrow spaces such as doorways or hallways.
The chair folds using a single pull cable and collapses to a 10-inch profile without removing parts. When folded, it can be rolled like luggage for transport or storage.

The Zinger operates on a 36V lithium-ion battery and travels up to 8 miles on a single charge. It reaches a top speed of 6 mph and can climb slopes of up to 10 degrees. The battery recharges in four hours or less using the included automatic charger. The 250W DC motor provides steady power for daily use on level ground and firm surfaces.
The chair is equipped with 9-inch rear air-filled tires and 6-inch solid front casters. This setup supports smooth rolling over short grass, compact dirt, or indoor flooring. The non-marking tires are designed for use on clean indoor surfaces without leaving residue.
The Zinger folds to a 10-inch profile and fits in most car trunks or backseats for transport or storage.

The Zinger can be used just about anywhere, indoors or out. It can handle a number of different terrains, such as grass, carpet, dirt and more.
In most cases, yes. Check to be certain your doorway openings are at least 27" wide. Any smaller than that will require you to get off and fold the Zinger in order to pass through. Businesses (mall, restaurants, etc.) are required to be ADA compliant, with doorways a minimum of 32" wide—no problem for the Zinger.
The Zinger Chair is capable of carrying a person weighing up to 275 lbs.
The Zinger is available in only one size. See the Product Specifications section for specific dimensions. The maximum user weight limit is 275 lbs.
Operation of the Zinger Chair requires the use of both arms and hands; however, we offer an alternative product for those whose dexterity is limited to one arm or hand. It's called the Zoomer Chair, and while it includes most of the same great features and benefits of the Zinger Chair, it is a one-handed, joystick-controlled chair. The joystick can even be installed on either side of the chair.
While people use the Zinger for many different reasons, the Zinger Chair is a personal electric vehicle. The Zinger Chair is not intended for individuals fully restricted to a sitting position. You must be able to get in and out of the chair.
The Zinger Chair will arrive fully assembled out of the box. It will include the chair, a battery, a charger and two keys (for securing the battery in place). In addition, it will include the hex key needed should you decide to remove the armrests.
At this time the Zinger Chair is not covered by Medicare.
Whether you are at a restaurant having dinner or just pulling up to your desk to get some work done, one of those great unique features of the Zinger Chair is that it easily fits under most desks and tables. Since the armrests are just 25" off the ground, you just pull right up as you would in a regular chair to any standard table or desk, which is generally 28" to 30" high. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) dictates that to be compliant, public seating must be a minimum of 27" from the floor to the bottom of the table surface.
Yes, and here are a few things you need to know before taking your Zinger on a plane. Your Zinger should qualify as free baggage with most airlines, but you can call prior to your trip to make sure. You can ride your Zinger all the way up to the gate and down the jetway. As you get to the end of the jetway, you will need to remove the Zinger battery from the back of the chair, fold your Zinger and hand to a flight attendant to stow under the plane. Take the battery onto the plane with you to your seat. Be sure to contact your specific airline to ask for their procedures for transporting a battery-powered vehicle, and see your Zinger Chair USA User Manual for more info. Here is a link to the FAA regulations regarding battery-powered chairs. See More.
The Zinger Chair does have a powered reverse, but it's almost always easiest to back out simply by pushing your feet against the ground, or your hands against a table or wall as you would in a rolling office chair.
Once powered on, the Zinger Chair defaults to the low speed, which is commonly used for indoor use on smooth surfaces. Here's a guideline for suggested speed usage.
Speed Range: Low: 0 - 1 mph (1.6 km/h) for indoors on smooth floors
Medium: 0 - 3 mph (5 km/h) for outdoors walking pace
High: 0 - 6 mph (9.5 km/h) for hill climbing or mowed grass
The Zinger Chair can easily be pushed around by the user when not riding in the chair.
Yes, should you choose to remove the armrests (installed by default), the hex key tool needed to remove them is included in the box.
The swinging foot plate is not adjustable; however, the Zinger is designed to fit people of most sizes.
The seat and backrest are not adjustable. Some Zinger owners have chosen to add an additional cushion.
Customers who are closer to the Zinger's weight limit of 275 lbs may find that the Zinger is a little more difficult to use when operating on the lowest speed setting on very thick or heavily padded carpet. The solution is to simply change the speed setting to "2," which will increase the ability of the Zinger to move around on these types of surfaces without significantly increasing speed.
Depending on usage (speed, weight, etc.) the Zinger Chair's battery will last up to eight miles of use.
It depends on the usage and conditions. The battery on average lasts for several years for many of our customers.
A charger is included, and the battery can be charged in or out of the chair. Charging takes four hours or less depending on the level of power already used. With a range of up to eight miles, most Zinger owners rarely run the battery all the way down in a single day.
There is a battery indicator located on the control panel that tells you the battery life.
The range of eight miles was tested on a continuous level course. With hills, stops and turns, you should get around five to six miles per charge. If you expect to travel farther in a single day, a spare battery is recommended. It's also great to have a spare charged battery on hand to ensure that your Zinger Chair is always ready to go.
Yes. It will operate on 220V, but you will need an inexpensive plug converter to fit the outlets of your foreign destination.
