UltraAir™ 12" Alternating Pressure Mattress with Rotation, Dynamic Low Air Loss, Guardrails & Bedpan System
People who remain in bed for long hours often develop sore skin or pressure ulcers from constant weight on the same body areas. The ObboMed® UltraAir™ Medical Air Mattress (Model OB-3682) helps reduce this problem through its Alternating Pressure Mattress and multi-angle rotation system (15°, 25°, 40°). This system gently changes air pressure under different parts of the body while slowly turning the user from side to side, spreading body weight and improving air and blood flow across the skin.
By reducing continuous pressure on one spot, it helps lower the risk of skin breakdown and supports the prevention and care of Stage 1–4 pressure ulcers, allowing patients to remain supported and properly positioned during long periods of bed rest. Available in two models, OB-3682 with 550 lbs capacity and OB-3682B with 800 lbs capacity.
Note: Bed Frame Not Included
UltraAir Control Unit Functions
Cell-on-Cell Mattress with 24-Hour Power Protection
The cell-on-cell mattress design provides continuous support even if power or air supply is interrupted. During a power outage, the bottom layer stays inflated as long as the air hose remains connected to the control unit, preventing the patient from sinking or “bottoming out.” This design helps maintain a stable and even surface, reducing the risk of added skin pressure and keeping the body properly supported until normal operation resumes.
UltraAir Patented Features
Easy Go Bedpan Function
With the bedpan button on the control unit, the Easy-Go bedpan function automatically creates a recessed space to position a bedpan, eliminating the need for lifting the patient during toileting and greatly reducing caregiver effort. "Bedpan Not Included"
Patented Inflatable Guardrails
It is soft, but provide strong support, which can fully protect the patient from falling out of the bed. It does not have the disadvantage of metal guardrails that are easy to cause bruises.
15° Self-Lateral Rotation
The continuously inflating and deflating cone-shaped air cells deliver gentle wave-like motion and soft self-lateral rotation through alternating pressure. This therapy helps redistribute body weight, relieve pressure points, and stimulate blood circulation to nourish the skin and prevent bedsores, while keeping the patient centered.
15° / 25° / 40° Rotation Angles
Designed turn over at multiple angles of 15°/25°/40°, it can meet the needs of patients in different states, increase the amount of activity of the patient, help the patient’s lungs to squeeze and expel phlegm, reduce bacterial infection of the lungs, improve physical therapy.
Vibration Massager
Equipped with 7 vibration massagers controlled by a microprocessor offering 8 massage modes. The adjustable massage levels help ease pain, reduce tension, boost metabolism, and improve blood flow to relieve muscle fatigue.
Warmer
Provides gentle, relaxing heat along the patient’s back above the alternating air cells. The steady warmth helps improve circulation and supports the immune system.
Fowler & Seating
Provides extra support to the seat and torso areas when the head of the bed is raised, helping prevent the patient from “bottoming out.”
Dynamic Low Air Loss
The dynamic low air loss (LAL) system, operating at 23 L per minute, releases a steady flow of air beneath the cover to remove humidity and heat from the skin. This process helps keep the surface dry, reduces friction and moisture buildup, and supports healthy skin for patient
Reduces skin friction and shearing for better comfort.

The UltraAir™ mattress is designed to help prevent and treat pressure ulcers (bedsores) from Stage 1 to Stage 4 by providing alternating pressure, low air loss therapy, and multiple rotation angles.
What makes the UltraAir™ mattress different from standard air mattresses?
This model features multiple rotation angles (15°, 25°, 40°), dynamic low air loss, a patented Easy-Go bedpan, inflatable guardrails, side bolsters, and optional warmer and massager functions — making it an advanced, full-care system.
What is the function of the “Easy-Go” bedpan?
The Easy-Go bedpan system allows caregivers to easily perform hygiene care or toileting without moving the patient, minimizing discomfort and reducing the risk of skin injury.
What does “dynamic low air loss” mean?
Dynamic low air loss provides continuous airflow up to 23 LPM, helping to control moisture, reduce heat, and keep the patient’s skin dry — all while maintaining consistent pressure relief.
Can the mattress stay inflated during a power outage?
Yes. The bottom layer stays inflated for up to 24 hours during a power outage, as long as the air hose remains connected to the control unit, ensuring continuous patient support.
What is the purpose of the rotation angles (15°/25°/40°)?
The mattress can automatically rotate the patient to different angles to relieve pressure points, enhance circulation, and prevent bedsores without the need for manual repositioning.
How does the warmer and massager feature work?
The warmer provides gentle, soothing heat along the patient’s back to improve circulation, while the massager uses 7 vibration points and 8 modes to reduce tension and enhance comfort.
What materials are used in the mattress?
The air cells are made of TPU and nylon, sealed using high-frequency heat sealing for durability. The cover is antimicrobial, liquid-resistant, fireproof, latex-free, and vapor-permeable for optimal hygiene and comfort.
