The P Lift residential wheelchair lift Series is one of America's most trusted residential wheelchair platform lifts—a vertical platform lift that helps wheelchair users and others with limited mobility move safely and independently between levels of the home while remaining in their wheelchair during operation. Designed for easy, everyday use at home, these lifts support up to 850 pounds and reach heights of 50", 60", or 72".
Whether you're navigating porch steps or a raised deck, the P-Lift is a compact alternative to a ramp that improves access to different levels of your home, supports aging in place for seniors, and can enhance home accessibility and independence.
The P Lift Series is a vertical platform lift designed for indoor or outdoor use, with indoor applications such as a garage entry inside the house, whether it's for your front porch, garage, or backyard deck. It's made with durable, weather-resistant materials, including a tough diamond plate platform and powder-coated steel frame, for durability against outdoor elements and to handle everything from Florida humidity to Alaskan snow.

The P LIFT 50", 60" and 72" home wheelchair lifts feature a standard setup allowing straight-in and straight-out movement. One key difference is that a vertical platform lift keeps the user in a wheelchair for entry and exit, while a stair lift is limited to stair locations only. Want more flexibility in tight spaces? The optional 90-degree platform lets users turn left or right to exit—ideal for porches or areas with limited room.
Note: The 90-degree platform lift option is only available for the standard 50" or 60" models, not the 72" lift.

You can place the PLIFT tower on either side and reposition the automatic ramp and safety barrier to suit your layout. This makes it one of the most customizable wheelchair platform lifts on the market, with available options depending on your space and layout needs. Different lift types can require different structural modifications and amounts of floor space.
Unlike chain-driven lifts, the P-Lift uses a screw drive system, making your ride up and down quiet, smooth, and reliable. It's also much safer, with fewer moving parts and less chance of failure.
The P-Lift-50 now includes wireless operation as a standard feature, allowing users and caregivers to control the lift while moving around freely. This system uses a secure signal and can move the lift up and down, with an emergency stop for safety.
It works from up to 50 feet away, and its easy pressure buttons make it accessible for users with limited dexterity.

The engineers behind the P-Lift designed it with safety redundancies, similar to those used in aviation. Features like dual limit switches help prevent the lift from overextending. Even if one limit switch fails, the second one will stop the lift safely.

The P-Lift outdoor platform lift ships partially assembled, with all major mechanical components pre-built. Installation is straightforward at the site, but it should be installed by certified technicians for safety and compliance: position and level the base frame, mount the main tower, slide on the carriage, attach the toe plate and handrail, and complete the final adjustments.
When it comes to home elevators for wheelchairs, the P-Lift Series is more than just a wheelchair lift; it's a simple, safe, and effective solution for making your home more accessible. Whether you need a wheelchair lift for a porch or a taller model for a multi-step entryway, the P-Lift is designed to meet your needs. Regular inspections and service help maintain reliable operation.
The P-Lift outdoor platform lift features an updated control panel designed for ease of use and safety. Instead of multiple small buttons, the lift uses one large UP button and one large DOWN button, clearly marked with directional arrows.

This simplified layout reduces confusion, minimizes user error, and makes operation easier for individuals with limited hand strength, vision, or coordination. A prominent emergency stop button and keyed power switch provide added safety and controlled access.

Common questions about choosing, installing and using the P-Lift vertical platform lift for home wheelchair and mobility access.
A wheelchair elevator lift, also known as a vertical platform lift, moves a wheelchair or mobility scooter vertically between two levels. Unlike an inclined platform lift that follows the angle of a staircase, the P-Lift travels straight up and down.
The P-Lift is designed primarily for residential accessibility applications and is not recommended for commercial settings.
Measure from the lower landing to the upper landing to determine the appropriate P-Lift model.
The P-Lift can fit many residential porches and decks with relatively little site preparation. A solid, level installation area is required.
Plan for a pad approximately 12 inches larger than the lift footprint. Common adjacent-entry configurations are approximately 60 × 66 inches or 66 × 66 inches.
The entrance side should also have approximately 12–20 inches of clear space so the toe plate can lower onto a firm surface. The toe plate acts as a small transition ramp between the platform and landing.
The wheelchair lift requires a solid, smooth and level base. Concrete and suitably constructed solid wood decking are common installation surfaces.
For vertical travel over 52 inches, the lift should also be secured to the building for additional stability.
Yes. The P-Lift is designed for both indoor and outdoor installations. Common residential applications include porch and deck entrances, garages and split-level interiors.
The P-Lift operates from a standard 120V AC, 15-amp household electrical circuit. If household power is unavailable, there are two options:
A fully charged backup system can provide up to approximately 50 complete lift cycles. The kit includes the exterior battery enclosure, inverter and required connection components, excluding the batteries.
The P-Lift incorporates several safety features, including a toe plate that functions as both a transition ramp and edge guard, handrails, a non-slip platform, limit switches designed to prevent over-travel, and an accessible emergency stop.
Landing gates and interlocks are also available for taller installations where controlled access is required.
Yes. The P-Lift uses accessible controls designed to allow a wheelchair user to operate the platform independently. Optional upper and lower call stations can also be installed so the lift can be called from either landing.
Depending on the configuration, P-Lift models can support approximately 750–880 pounds, providing capacity for the user together with many power wheelchairs or mobility scooters.
If your combined user and mobility device weight is close to the stated limit, contact us before ordering so the appropriate configuration can be confirmed.
The P-Lift has an approximate crated shipping weight of 705 pounds. The installed lift weighs less once packaging and the shipping crate have been removed, but the full shipping weight should be considered when planning freight delivery and installation.
