The bed comes in two boxes containing:
- Box 1: Headboard, footboard, hand crank (for semi-electric model), 4 casters (2 locking, 2 non-locking), 4 pins, and a manual.
- Box 2: Head spring section, foot spring section, drive shaft (adjustable for semi-electric, 2 pieces for full-electric), dual motor, hand pendant, and side rails (full or half length).
Insert the shaft of each caster into the caster socket on each bed leg, ensuring that locking casters are installed diagonally from each other for maximum security. Lock each caster by pushing down on the lock.
Stand the headboard close to the head frame, raise the head frame until the rivets fit into the corner locks, then return the headboard to an upright position to lock it in place. Repeat for the footboard.
The hand control pendant allows for adjustments of the upper body, knees, and bed height. The semi-electric model includes a manual crank for height adjustments, while the full-electric model has motorized adjustments for all positions.
Connect a 9V battery to the motor, which will allow you to lower the head and foot sections of the bed. Replace the battery periodically.
Check all controls, power cords, and pendant cords to ensure proper function. Visually inspect welds, joints, and fasteners on the bed frame and sleeping surface. Clean metal parts with mild detergent and warm water, and lubricate all actuator screw threads and caster bearings.
Clean metal parts with mild detergent and warm water. Periodically raise the head and foot sections and remove dust from the frame. Remove and clean the mattress deck periodically.
The bed frame has a limited lifetime warranty, and the motor has a two-year warranty.

Benefits: Aiding in turning and repositioning, providing a hand-hold, reducing the risk of falls, and providing easy access to bed controls.
Risks: Strangling, suffocating, bodily injury, falls when climbing over rails, inducing agitated behavior, feeling isolated, and preventing routine activities.
