The Universal Therapy System (UTS) Mattress by Great Life Healthcare works by actively encouraging blood flow through a 10-minute cycle that gently increases and decreases pressure within the support surface. This dynamic pressure adjustment helps reduce interface pressures, which prevents tissue breakdown and promotes healing.
UTS features integrated automatic weight-sensing technology, ensuring optimal distribution of patient weight. It combines both a low-pressure alternating mode and a continuous low-pressure mode in a single air mattress system, providing exceptional pressure relief. This design is highly effective in preventing and treating pressure ulcers, including those up to stage 4.

The UTS Low Air Loss Mattress System is super convenient and easy to use. The pump is integrated into the mattress, eliminating the need for bulky blowers hanging off the side of the bed. You only need to manage the power cord, which can be neatly secured with loops on the mattress to keep it out of the way, reducing the risk of trips or falls. Plus, the blower is much quieter than most other systems, ensuring it won’t disturb anyone. The mattress automatically adjusts the air pressure to match the person's weight, with manual adjustments available via the hand controller when needed.

The Static Mode and Alternating Mode on the Universal Therapy System (UTS) Low Air Loss Mattress System serve different functions to provide optimal support for patients:
Static Mode: In this mode, the mattress provides continuous low pressure across the entire surface. It is designed for patients who need constant, even pressure to prevent discomfort and skin breakdown. This mode is ideal for patients who are less mobile or have a higher risk of developing pressure ulcers, providing stable support over extended periods.
Alternating Mode: In alternating mode, the mattress alternating pressure across different zones in a cycle, typically every 10 minutes. This dynamic adjustment helps promote blood circulation by periodically redistributing pressure from one area to another. This mode is particularly beneficial for patients who are at risk of pressure ulcers or have existing ulcers, as the changing pressure helps to relieve stress on sensitive areas and encourages tissue oxygenation and healing.
